I have to say it feels odd blogging about New Old Friends’ Christmas show in the middle of a baking hot July. But that’s what I’m doing.
Anti-Panto is taking up vast swathes of my time; yesterday I finished the second Arts Council application (with added funny) and today had a chat with the director about it. Throughout July I’m in the process of writing it, its all very exciting.
What is it? I hear you cry!
Well, officially its an anarchic Christmas comedy. Which translates as basically Cinderella told from the Prince’s point of view set in reality, with stand-up and comedy coppers. Its kindly supported by the Natural Theatre Company and is on at The Rondo this December.
We’re casting it in September while I’m in Shanghai (auditions in Blighty though) and need to start putting together a short list. There are six roles, all funny, both genders and all ages. Equity rates of pay.
